Hi there!! How
are you?? Hope you are doin fine 😃
In this time, I’m going to tell you about one of
amazing place in Indonesia!! It is Mount Merapi! Yeayyyy! I choose this place
because I ever visited this place when I was in junior high school and it was a
memorable time for me. So, I wanna share it to you 😊
Mount Merapi |
Mount Merapi is one of mountains in Indonesia. The name came from the Javanese words; Meru means
"mountain" and api means
"fire". So, it could be translated as 'Mountain of Fire'.
Mount Merapi is an active stratovolcano
Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is located approximately 28 kilometres north
of Yogyakarta city.
It is the most active volcano
in Indonesia and has erupted regularly since 1548. The latest erruption of
Mount Merapi were in 2010. The eruption
produced many harmful substances and volcanic ash, caused many
casualties and damage, and the other disadvantage.
There are two peaks of Mount Merapi. The first peak is
before the actual crater summit of the volcano. This is where people will
normally camp if they are hiking to the top of Merapi. The second peak is the
crater peak. This is where the people usually climb for watching the sun rise.
the peaks |
We can explore the mount with a jeep, or we can call
the tour as ''offroad''. But, the jeep can't take us to the peak (we need to climb). I ever did offroad and it was so fun! Even there will be a
lil bit dusty and we have to use a mask on the way to the top, It's equal with the memorable
experience.
This is Dhea, one of my best friends in jhs, with the jeep we used |
offroad!! ^^ |
When we are doing the tour with a jeep, we can visit
the museum. There, we can see a replica of Merapi's Eruption in 2010. There are some pictures of the erruption and
some stuff that affected by volcanic ash like spoon, plate, glass, bones, motorcycle, clock, etc. When I visited this museum, I shudder, imagine I was there when the
eruption happened.
The other activity you can do in Mount Merapi
is watching the sun rise from the top of the mount. Unfortunately, when I
visited Mount Merapi, I didn't see the sunrise
.. but I hope i can see it next time bc it would be very amazing :))
Maybe, climbing to the peak mount is the most exhausting, tired, and dusty
part. But, the view from the top is 100% worth it. From the top you will see Mount Merbabu to the north and Slamet, Sumbing,
and Sindoro mountains to the west. I think it’s really a special thing and I
recommend to you who will visit Yogyakarta for trying to climbing this mount because it’s
so fun! :))
I hope I can see the sunrise with my family and my
bestfriend someday .. and hopefully you -whoever you are- can visited this amazing place too ... Aamiin :))
