King Midas and The Golden Touch

Many years ago, there lived a king named Midas in  Phrygia, a region nowadays part of Turkey. He had one little daughter whose name was Marigold. King Midas was very, very rich. It was said that he had more gold than any other king in the world. At last, the King grew so fond of his gold that he loved it better than anything else in all the world.

One day while he was in his gold room counting his money, a beautiful fairy boy stood before him. The boy's face shone with a wonderful light and he had wings on his cap and wings on his feet. In his hand, he carried a strange-looking wand and the wand also had wings.

"Midas, you are the richest man in the world," said the fairy. "There is no King who has so much gold as you."

"That may be," said the King. "As you see, I have this room full of gold, but I should like much more; for gold is the best and the most wonderful thing in the world."

"Are you sure?" asked the fairy.
"I am very sure." answered the King.
"If I should grant you one wish,'' said fairy, "would you ask for more gold?"

"If I could have only one wish," said the king, "I would ask that everything I touch turn to beautiful yellow gold."

"Your wish shall be granted," said the fairy. "At sunrise tomorrow morning, your slightest touch will turn everything into gold. But I warn you that your gift will not make you happy."

"I will take the risk," said the King.

The next day, King Midas awoke very early. He was eager to see if the fairy's promise had come true. As soon as the sun arose, he tried the gift by touching the bed lightly with his hand. The bed turned to gold. He touched the chair and table. Upon the instant, they were turned to solid gold. The King was wild with joy. He ran around the room, touching everything he could see. His magic gift turned all to shining, yellow gold.

The King soon felt hungry and went down to eat his breakfast. Now, a strange thing happened. When he raised a glass of clear water to drink, it became solid gold. The bread turned to gold under his fingers. The meat was hard, and yellow, and shiny. Not a thing could he get to eat. All was gold, gold, and gold.

Suddenly, his little daughter come running in from the garden. "Dad!" The little girl ran to the king. King Midas trying not to touch his daughter, but Marigold holding the hand of his father. At once, the little girl was changed to a golden statue.

A great fear crept into the King's heart, sweeping all the joy out of his life. In his grief, he called and called upon the fairy who had given him the gift of the golden touch.

"O fairy," he begged, "take away this horrible golden gift! Take all my lands. Take all my gold. Take everything. Only give me back my little daughter.

In a moment, the beautiful fairy was standing before him.

"Do you still think that gold is the greatest thing in the world?" asked the fairy.
"No! no!" cried the King. "I hate the very sight of yellow stuff."
"Are you sure that you no longer wish the golden touch?" asked the fairy.
"I have learned my lesson," said the King."I no longer think gold the greates thing in the world."
"Very well," said the fairy, "take this pitcher to the spring in the garden and fill it with water. Then sprinkle those things which you have touched and turned to gold."

The King took the pitcher and rushed to the spring. Running back he first sprinkled the head of his dear little girl. Instantly, he became his own darling Marigold again and gave him a kiss.

The King sprinkled the golden food, and to his great joy it turned back to real bread and real butter. Then he and his little daughter sat down to breakfast. How good the cold water tasted! How eagerly the hungry King ate the bread and butter, the meat, and all the food!

The King hated his golden touch so much that he sprinkled even the chairs and the tables and everything else that the fairy's gift had turned to gold.

The Beauty of Fire Mountain

Hi there!! How are you?? Hope you are doin fine ðŸ˜ƒ

In this time, I’m going to tell you about one of amazing place in Indonesia!! It is Mount Merapi! Yeayyyy! I choose this place because I ever visited this place when I was in junior high school and it was a memorable time for me. So, I wanna share it to you 😊

Mount Merapi
Mount Merapi is one of mountains  in Indonesia.  The name came from the Javanese  words;  Meru  means "mountain" and api means "fire". So, it could be translated as 'Mountain of Fire'.

Mount Merapi is an active stratovolcano
that located between Central Java and
YogyakartaIndonesia It is located approximately 28 kilometres north of Yogyakarta city.

It is the most active volcano in Indonesia and has erupted regularly since 1548. The latest erruption of Mount Merapi were in 2010. The eruption  produced many harmful substances and volcanic ash, caused many casualties and damage, and the other disadvantage.

There are two peaks of Mount Merapi. The first peak is before the actual crater summit of the volcano.  This is where people will normally camp if they are hiking to the top of Merapi. The second peak is the crater peak. This is where the people usually climb for watching the sun rise.

the peaks

We can explore the mount with a jeep, or we can call the tour as ''offroad''. But, the jeep can't take us to the peak (we need to climb). I ever did offroad and it was so fun! Even there will be a lil bit dusty and we have to use a mask on the way to the top, It's equal with the memorable experience.

This is Dhea, one of my best friends in jhs, with the jeep we used
offroad!! ^^

When we are doing the tour with a jeep, we can visit the museum. There, we can see a replica of Merapi's Eruption in 2010.  There are some pictures of the erruption and some stuff that affected by volcanic ash like spoon, plate, glass, bones, motorcycle, clock, etc. When I visited this museum, I shudder, imagine I was there when the eruption happened.

This is some of the things in the museum

The other  activity you can do in Mount Merapi is watching the sun rise from the top of the mount. Unfortunately, when I visited Mount Merapi, I didn't see the sunrise .. but I hope i can see it next time bc it would be very amazing :))

Maybe, climbing to the peak mount is the most exhausting, tired, and dusty part. But, the view from the top is 100% worth it. From the top you will see Mount Merbabu to the north and Slamet, Sumbing, and Sindoro mountains to the west. I think it’s really a special thing and I recommend to you who will visit Yogyakarta  for trying to climbing this mount because it’s so fun! :))

I hope I can see the sunrise with my family and my bestfriend someday .. and hopefully you -whoever you are-  can visited this amazing place too ... Aamiin :))

MEGANTARA!?

the poster
Maybe some of you confuse what "Megantara" is. Well, it is one of SMAN 3 Bandung’s event. SMAN 3 Bandung’s event. Again. First, I apologyze if you are bored with my post about my school’s event again again and again. But, I’m here to share my experience and some stuff like that .. so .. yeah hope you understand heheh :))

Megantara is a cultural festival and taken from Sanskrit word. ‘’mega’’  means  big and ‘’gantari’’ means brighten/rays/light. The word itself described about nusantara (Nusantara = Indonesian archipelago)So, “megantara” means “nusantara is a majestic rays’’

Megantara was held on last Saturday, 10th September. It started with parade. The participants are the first grade and some outsider(?) like children of some playground, and cultural team. The parade was supervise by the committe. In this moment, the girls have to wear ‘’kebaya’’ and the boys have to wear ''pangsi'' . It’s a traditional clothes from West Java.

the girls wore traditional cloth

the parade

The parade start from Bali street ->  belitung street –> sumatera street –> aceh street – > merdeka street ->  java street –> and back to bali street. Here’s the route:

After parade, I took a break with my friends. We were changing our clothes at Daffa's house, eating 'siomay' near the gate of SMAN 3 at kalimantan street, praying and taking a break in a mosque, and then we were waiting for the open gate of megantara. The open gate is 11.35 am. But we went to the lapangan bali ( where the megantara was held ) at around 2.00 pm. There are a lot of food and drink stand, culture stand, photobooth, and a haunted house area ( but I was too scared to get into the house lol).

The stage and the committee ( the committee wore maroon shirt )

The event itself have a fashion show competition, welcoming from mayor of Bandung, cultural attraction, and music concert. Fyi, my class winning the fashion show competition yeayyyy *party* ... the 1st winner is hafizh!!! He wore papua barat traditional clothes!

tasya-hafizh-salfia

Over all, I really enjoy this event. But i was a lil bit sad bc my old friends was too busy to come there. This event was more crowded late afternoon and the climax started when T'sT 's show ( theatre ) til the concert of the changcuters and ran held (they are an Indonesian’s band). I really like T's T performance. I think they act so good as always ^^

The event over at 10 pm and yep. I’m so tired ... but ... I’m so happy at the same time lol. This event is like refreshing time from the study and lesson so I was just enjoy this event as enjoy as I can ^^ Thank you Megantara! What incredible night!

HEIHO, IT'S WTTF!!

Hello good people!! How are you? Hope you are doin' fine :))

This time I'm gonna tell you about WTTF or World Tournament X Techno Festival. Umm .. this is not a ''world tournament'' actually, this is just a name of SMAN 3 Bandung's event lol. WTTF is one of a lot of event that held by SMAN 3 Bandung. This is the poster :

Nah, about wttf ... this is like an competition-event for junior (32019) and senior (32018) where each of generation need to finished every challenge in every posts. WTTF  was held on Saturday, 20 August. My class was just wearing sport uniform and a yellow ribbon on our left hand while the other classes wearing some unique accesories ( they have their own style but my class is so simple lol).

The special part of this event is ... we HAVE TO SPEAK ENGLISH all the time and that was a lil bit hard! Sometimes we speak bahasa accidentally and I think that will reduce our point :')) . Beside that, this event have a special theme (I think). The theme is outer spacee~~~ yeay! Every post is named by the planet : earth, jupiter, saturnus, etc.

the map
We all gather in Lapangan Bali at 06.30. Our committee was said that we need to compete our senior who have the same class. I mean..my class, X science 5 need to compete xi science 5. After that, we moved to our school and gather in corridor. There we were given a map that shows the route of the post. The map filled by a clue of the post..so we need to guess the place.

First post, held in Bangsal. The challenge is playing fifa, football game, or whatever it called ( I don't know what exactly the game is ) on computer. In this time, sadly, my class  defeated by xi science 5, our senior. The score of this game is only different slightly. 5-4! We just need one more goal, c'mon! :(

Second post, held in Lapangan Bali, in the football field. There ... we were playing ... FLAPPY BIRD. Can you imagine that!??? hahahah. It's so funny. I really want to participated but .. I'm late. My friends already made a line and participated in that game. This game's winner is .. MY CLASS! Yeay finally ... we got our first puzzle!! (every winner in a game will be given a piece of puzzle)

Next game is still held in the same place .. we play .. we play .. I don’t know what is the game called hahahah sorry. In this game, we need to steal the ribbon that wound in our enemy's hand and every participant need to protect their own ribbon and their queen. If the queen attacked successfully by the enemy, you lose. Fyi, I participated in this game yeay!!! *ignore this* This game's winner is our senior. again. and ... its a slightly different again!!! 12-13! We just need one more point!

Fourth, the game held in the basketball field. We play a technology-quiz there. My class was represented by Fina. In this time, we were draw with our senior and we both given a piece of puzzle.

Next. The fifth post’s challenge is recycle a used cardboard into a robot. The participant is all of the class member. I think some of my classmate was exhausted because the game held in Tongkeng Park and it is far enough from the basketball court. In this game, we gathered and made an circle and then start making the robot. It was so fun ... we scream each other, fight for just a cellophane tape, etc. Our robot is .. cute enough ( I think) .. but .. we lose again in this challenge.

Sixth post is in Photography Park. It’s near enough from Tongkeng Park. This is one of my favorite post. Why? Because .. in this post, I watched my friend, Hilmy and Vian, playing a funny game. We were laughing a lot because of them. I don’t know how to describe the game, but you can see that in this pic below :

From the Photography Park, we moved back to our school. There, we were taking a break for 30 minutes. After praying and having lunch, we gathered again and moved to yard in front of new hall.  And we did the 7th challenge. It’s a quiz game. In this time .. we beat our senior and got the puzzle yeay!!!

Eight post. It’s an eating challenge! Two person from each class have to eat all of the spicy-noodles that served. I admit that my senior was so good in this challenge. They eat all of the spicy-noodles just in a few second. Can you imagine that? My senior was so strong lol.

My classmate was so enjoying this challenge (not like our senior who take it seriously). In the end of the challenge ... my classmate share the noodles to our class member and eat it together. I beg they don’t care about the winner or something like that ... and I think ... they are hungry, so they just eat the noodles slowly bc they want to enjoy the food (maybe).

9th post is one of my favorite post too. The challenge is playing a game called tekken. It was sooo fun. From my class, there are a girl who plays the game : MIA, while the other players is a boy. And  the point is : she can defeat our senior! YUP. WE WIN. My class was winning the game perfectly! Well done guys!!! Proud of ya all!

Because of time, we didn’t go to the last post in Centrum. We were back to Lapangan Bali. There, all of us (32019) compete all of our senior (32018). Actually, this is the ‘real  game’. We fight the aliens in Lapangan Bali with water-balloons and collect the pieces of puzzle as many as we can take.  And then .. 32018 and 32019 arrange the puzzles, each generation, as soon as possible. Guess who’s the winner!

The winner is ... MY GENERATION, 32019! YEAYYY~~

this is the puzzle of 32019 :))

32019 is the winner for the best generation in this event. Even my class not the winner of the best class, I’m fine. I hope we can be closer than before and more often to laugh together like this day :))

Thank you all, This is one of my best day. You made it!!
See ya soon~~

Independence Day!

Hello everyone!!! I’m back :D
This time i’m not gonna introduce myself but I will tell you about what happened two days ago!! So, are you curious? ( please say yes, say yes, cause I need to know~~~ *singing* *ignore this* )

In celebrating Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day , my school held an event called “TERIYAKI” two days ago. Well, I think we were little bit late for celebrating our Independence day. Indonesian’s Independence Day  is on 17th August, but we celebrate it on 27th August ... but its okay..  it’s better to late then never :))

The event started  after we finished our sport lesson at 10.00 a.m. in Lapangan Bali ( near from SMAN 3 Bandung).  Its participants is  all of 3’2019, so my class will compete  the other classes.

FYI, before the event started, Some of my classmates and I play handball. It's so fun even we just played it just a moment. After playing handball, we moved.

First, we gathered in basketball court and then all of the class divided into a team. My class is in team A, with x science 2, x science 7,  and x social 1.  It means that my class ( x science 5 ) will compete them.

After listening some intruction, our team moved  to bangsal. Bangsal is enclosed building to play badminton  (and  anything like that) where still in the same area with basketball court in lapangan bali. In bangsal, we play dodgeball. Well, not everyone played dodgeball ... only 6 person from each class who play it. The game is divided into several rounds.  My class was battle with x social 1. I’m so excited for seeing my friends play dodgeball and hope we can win that game, but unfortunately .. we were lose :”))

After playing and watching dodgeball, we moved to basketball court. And I think this is my favourite moments. In the basketball court, we play ‘’Tarik Tambang’’ or known as ‘’Tug of war’’ in english. ‘’Tarik Tambang’’ almost always be held in every celebration of our Independence Day.

In that time, I participated in the competition. I always like to play ‘’tarik tambang’’ since I was in elementary school. I think this game is really fun, we will cooperate with our friends to win this game together! Its so good to increase our solidarity :))

please ignore if there some of our weird face lol

Each class sent a group of 10 students ( 5 boys and 5 girls ) and battle with the team of other class. My class was compete with x science 2. In the begining, I thought  my team will win easily .. but the reality is not like that. I found it so hard to win. The team of x science 2 is as strong as us. We draw 1-1  .. but, in the end .. my class was lose ( again L ). I think we lose because the court was full of flour so the court was so slippy ... but its okay .. we still have one game!!!

The last game held in football field. I don’t know what the game called but .. in the game, we have to fill the bucket with water from a spons. The spons will be thrown from referee to player and then the player will throw it to her/his team until the spons squeezed in the bucket. Okay I know it sounds confusing lol. Well, overall, I think the game is similar with handball, but we use spons, not a ball, and we need to fill the bucket with water from the spons.

Okay ... I have no idea how to describe it more clearly. I hope you can imagine and understand the game with this photos :)

After we finished the games. We were back to the basketball court and listening what our seniors ( the committee ) said. Then, we were praying, taking a break, and having a lunch!!

Around 02.00 p.m, we gathered again in basketball court and made a line every class. In the end, our senior announced the winner. Yeah .. even we were not win, atleast we already tried our best ^^

Before going home, there were an surprised(?) from T’s T ( Tiloe’s Theater ). T’s T is extracurricular theater in SMAN 3 Bandung. I’m so happy to watch them because they are so funny hehehe ... even they only played theater for a few minutes, I really enjoyed it!

They act so good :))

It  was sooooo fun!! And I’m so glad I can attend this event!
That’s all ... thanks for reading and hope you like it, and .. please forgive all of my mistakes .. I’m not a perfect human okay? Lol. Here's my pic with my friends if you wanna see ^^

Have a good day!! And Happy Independence Day, Indonesia!!!
